On the Same Page is the community wide reading project for younger children. The title chosen this year is Champ by author Marcia Thornton Jones.

Champ is a book about a boy and a dog who set out to prove to the boy’s father and the whole town that there is more than one way to be a winner. In the story Riley is awful at sports and wants to quit playing baseball. Champ is the three legged dog that comes into his life and has to learn new tricks to perform again as a show dog. Both learn that giving up is not an option.

Thornton Jones will visit schools in Bowling Green March 6 and 7. She is the author of more than 120 books including the well-known Bailey School Kids series. She is a former elementary school teacher and lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her husband and two cats.
